My first memory of writing compelling copy was passing a poem to my elementary school crush, asking if she wanted to grab pizza after class. That’s when I fell in love with writing—and rejection.

Since then, I’ve helped burger brands clap back on social, made my Canadian coffee clients “feel cool,” landed a short story in The New York Times, and authored an award-winning children’s book that earned an Ezra Jack Keats Honor and was named one of the Smithsonian’s Best Books of 2024. You can check it out—and hopefully buy it—here.

Things people have said about my writing:

“Carlos reminds me of advertising legend Bill Bernbach—mostly because they both lived in the Bronx. His writing, though, not so much.” — Former Creative Director

“We’ve decided to forward all of his pitches to spam.” — McSweeney’s Editor

“One of the most import writers of this generation” — My mom
